"Your presence and voice are needed in this world. Stand tall and embrace your uniqueness."

What does being a Black Female Entrepreneur mean to you?

Being a Black Female entrepreneur holds significant meaning for me as it provides a platform to explore my skills, passions, and work ethic outside traditional settings. This journey not only empowers me to innovate but also serves as a continual opportunity for growth. The ability to connect with and learn from other Black women entrepreneurs excites me. I have been able to feel myself strengthened by the ties of sisterhood and join a supportive community that contributes to personal and collective advancement. With entrepreneurship, I have had a chance to redefine my success.

When the atmosphere becomes challenging, what drives you to keep going?

In challenging moments, I find strength in the resilience of strong black women in my family. I often reflect on the multifaceted challenges they navigated in their home countries – and the United States. I have used their stories as a source of inspiration during both triumphs and tribulations in my life. I routinely remind myself that their achievements are the foundation of my potential.

What advice do you have for Black Women who may be considering entrepreneurship?

For Black women considering entrepreneurship, my advice is to embrace your unique journey. It’s common to compare ourselves to others and view difficult experiences through a deficit mindset. Instead, focus on having confidence in your capabilities. To strengthen areas of growth, build a strong support network, and actively seek mentorship. Your journey is a testament to your resilience, and in the realm of entrepreneurship, your distinct perspective has the power to drive innovation and enrich the business landscape with diversity.

Resist the temptation to diminish yourself or “play it safe” simply because you might be the only one in the room. Your presence and voice are needed in this world. Stand tall and embrace your uniqueness.
