Cheryl McCants: Pioneering Success and Empowerment in Black Female Entrepreneurship

"Being a Black entrepreneur is an honor that I carry and a bright torch that I intend to pass on."

What does being a Black Female Entrepreneur mean to you?

My journey as a Black entrepreneur has been 35 years of exciting innovation, struggles, successes, and triumphs. My success as a Black entrepreneur is a testament to the hard work, expertise, and pure awesomeness of my community. Being a Black entrepreneur is an honor that I carry and a bright torch that I intend to pass on.

When the atmosphere becomes challenging, what drives you to keep going?

We don’t just “do” business; we shape narratives, inspire communities, and transform the landscape of organizations and leaders.

What advice do you have for Black Women who may be considering entrepreneurship?

I live by this credo from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: “If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” We have future generations to support. So, to my fellow Black entrepreneurs, I say this: Our entrepreneurial journey and spirit pave the way for generational wealth for us all. Let’s have fun and take care of our communities.
