Ingrid Thibodeaux: Constructing Change and Supporting Growth in Entrepreneurship

"I believe that by supporting each other and sharing our stories of triumph over adversity, we can empower more individuals like us to pursue their dreams fearlessly."

What does being a Black Female Entrepreneur mean to you?

Imagine working as a waitress for 18 years, feeling uninspired and limited by the system. Now picture yourself breaking free from those constraints and becoming a successful business owner in a male-dominated industry.  I understand firsthand the challenges we face in a system that feels rigged against us or limited by societal barriers.

As a black and brown female business owner, I am determined to pave the way for the UNINSPIRED and to show others that the system is not rigged against us. Instead, it is an invitation for us to challenge norms and pave our own paths towards success. I believe that by supporting each other and sharing our stories of triumph over adversity, we can empower more individuals like us to pursue their dreams fearlessly. Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

When the atmosphere becomes challenging, what drives you to keep going?

Once I prove to myself I can do it. I no longer have the excuse I CAN’T.

What advice do you have for Black Women who may be considering entrepreneurship?

Black women have been the backbone of the family and nucleus of what drives the black family to be successful for centuries. It’s not fear of failing it’s the fear of not trying.  Black women have always been the strongest part of the black. So, I say to all my black and brown women out there, do what those before have done…adapt to your environment, strive to be heard and respected, and most importantly, preserve as only a black and brown woman can.  We as black and brown women, must participate in our own rescue.
